Sinclair computers

A range of books on the Sinclair QL are available - price range of £3-£4 each

The machine code ones may be of a particular interest some of you.

RISCOS computers

Hardware

A number of Acorn RISCOS machines, donated from one source in 2007 :

#1 A420/1 - Serial number – 01-AKB42-1001315 – 1987
Hard Drive 40MB
Had this working, for a while … about one week
Bypassed the Atomwide Network startup - was used on a Acorn/RISCOS Network
Installed a normal !Boot and some software, for stand alone use
Hardware then failed a day or so later
One wire on internal Battery holder broken off
*Supervisor prompt – will not switch in to Desktop

Note : This machine is like a PC, with a main computer box - beige colour - and a separate keyboard.

Diagnosis - can fixed, just needs some attention to get working again.

#2 A420/1 - Serial number – 27-AKB40-1009122 – 1987
Added a Hard Drive 40MB
Added a disk – bezel design does not match casing
Powers ON, no video scan

Note : This machine is like a PC, with a main computer box - beige colour - and a separate keyboard.

Diagnosis - can fixed, just needs some attention to get working again.
Needs more work than Machine #1.

#3 A310 - Serial number – 27-AKB15-1017403 –
No Hard Drive – No HD connection on main board
No Disk Drive – put a temporary in place with wrong bezel design, does not match
Powers ON
*Supervisor prompt
Not recognising the keyboard, when switched on

Note : This machine is like a PC, with a main computer box - beige colour - and a separate keyboard.
A lower specification than Machines #1 and #2.

Diagnosis - useful for spares.
